Italian Bread Pudding With Liquor And Caramel Sauce

1 loaf Italian bread sliced
3 cups cold milk 2%
1/2 cup coffee liqueur (Kahlua recommended)
6 large eggs
11/2 cup sugar
1/4 tea spoon vanillin
1/3 tea spoon ground nutmeg
1/3 tea spoon ground cinnamon
2/3 cup walnut pieces
1/2 cup golden raisins
Caramel sauce – recipe follows
Sweet butter

Preparation time: 10 min
Baking time 50-60 min at 350°F

Preheat oven. Generously butter 13x9 inch flat baking dish. Slice Italian bread into 20 slices, 1 inch each and arrange slices into 2 rows overlapped.

In large bowl beat eggs, add sugar, vanillin, nutmeg, cinnamon and milk. Blend well. Add raisins. Pour the mixture over the bread. Press down slightly to submerge into milk mixture. Let it stand fo10-15 min. Place in the preheated oven and bake 50-60 min or until top is golden. Serve warm or chilled with caramel sauce.

Caramel sauce:
1 cup butterscotch caramel sauce
5 table spoons heavy cream
4 table spoon coffee liqueur

Combine all ingredients in medium bowl, blend, warm in microwave oven for 30 seconds, add nuts and drizzle over pudding.
