Cookies ”Rosettes”

16 Oz Cream cheese
2 sticks Margarine (Fleischmann’s recommended)
2 large egg yolks
3 cups All- purpose flour (Gold Medal recommended)
1 tea spoon backing powder


2 large egg whites
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 tea spoon vanillin
1/4 tea spoon cream of tartar

Preparation time: 30 min
Backing time::45 min
Temperature: 350°F

In large bowl beat well cream cheese, margarine and egg yolks. Add flour and baking powder. Mix well and place dough in refrigerator while you prepare filling.

Beat egg whites until you get very thick pick. Add sugar, vanillin and cream of tartar. Beat well for 2 min.

Remove dough from refrigerator, divide in four equal parts. Roll out dough parts one at the time in thin layers. With spoon or spatula spread filling on each layer to cover ¾ of dough surface. Roll in each part and slice the roll in 1 inch wide slices. Place slices on oiled baking sheet and bake in preheat oven for 45-50 min at 350°F. Cool and serve.
