Fruit Compote

Ingredients
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups water
2 table spoon lemon juice
2 tea spoon vanilla extract
2 peeled pears quartered
2 peeled peaches quartered
2 peeled nectarines quartered
2 peeled apricots quartered
1 cup fresh pineapples wedged
Sweet cherries

Directions
Combine the first three ingredients in a saucepan with vanilla extract. Bring to boiling point and simmer uncovered for 6 min. Add pears, cover and cook gently for 10 min. Add cherries previously soaked in Kirsch and remaining fruits. Cover and cook 6-12 min or until fruits is tender. Cool in syrup. Serve cold
